Hi all!

I launched my first website last week as some of you have seen and this is my second website but my first forum. I wanted to try and do a forum and I know I like to gripe so I figured what better way to combine the two into a gripeboard.

Let me know what you think.

www.thegripeboard.com

Thanks in adavance-

Some stuff as I take a look:

- Improve your logo
- Aesthetics, color selection is fine for category.
- Move login box to header.
- Find another place for the videos
- Move left column up, use bigger fonts.
- The meat is the forum, make it BIGGER
- Try navigation to the left of the login (now in the header)

Hope it helps, my 2 cents.

Best,

Manuel

i like the concept, it's funny. the logo is generic, you should re-do it with more thought. the search bar should go on the top. i can't figure out how the vids work. make the text bigger in the forum section, kinda small. i think it'll work, everyone has a gripe about something.

I like the concept too. There are a million and one different forums out there on the web -- your mission is to find those that have a passion for 'griping.'

How are you going to attract them? What images convey this? What clever text might you throw out there to appeal to them?

Maybe a random gripe generator... (be like a random quote on the website, you know, preloaded with 10, 20, or more good gripes.... would be an easy javascript)

That website has to be the gripe......

It's good designed forum! I don't see any evident tribble.

Thanks for the feedback all.

I think most of it is pretty valid. I am going to improve the logo but the main prupose was to just get up the forum first to make sure I could do it. (It was my first forum after all.)

As for the videos...Those are actually ads from Adsense/Youtube I have no idea how they work or if they do I just thought they were a little different than the typical banner/text ads. Just another thing on the list of things for me to learn.

Thanks again for all your input...

The overall concept could be considered clever, but at the same time troublesome. You will find a lot of people that will be shoveling a lot of manure around and more of it will be artificial, than from the real thing. If you know what I mean?

The color scheme needs some work, the placement of content needs some work and the logo needs some serious work. I wish you luck with this.

Hey Kutaone!

Your site's design is simplistic and organized. I would like to see a one liner under your logo as to what the site is about. This is a good thing to have for visitors who may be directed there out of the blue. I thought maybe i'd find it under the FAQ but it was not there.

Good luck with the new site, I hope you take my advice into consideration.
