Hello I just finished coding a search engine.
Technologies used: php, mysql, ajax, javascript, css, rss, xml and various api's.
It should be xhtml transitional.
Search Engine Friendly urls. - do a web search for cars and the url is http://www.inet411.com/search/web/1/cars
All meta tags are dynamically generated, title, keywords and description are automatically created based on the search (i.e. it spiders itself and gets all the keywords for each page) do a search for cars and you'll see a title, keywords and description all about cars, do a search for dogs and you'll see a title, keywords and description all about dogs.
Google-like autosuggest as you type in the search bar.
Related searches to the right when you submit a query, related keyword cloud at bottom of search results.
Thumbnails next to each result.
I'm sure I'm missing a couple things but thats about the jist of it.

Why is it not a standalone site? I made as part of a portfolio for a freelance job (I got the job). I made a couple of improvements yesterday and wanted to see what others thought.
Do you think the search engine is worthy of its own domain?
How should I improve design? Thought on Search Engine design - keep minimal or go crazy?
Any suggestions, comments are appreciated. Not just design comments also functionality, ease of use etc....
Thanks,
Rob

keep minimal load times.

I like your start, but I would have to say that it needs to be personalized. It looks like a parked domain as it is.

not bad, you will need something pretty special to make people change their search engine though.

I agree with randon, a search engine needs quick loading times.

I think it deserves its own domain name.

Whether to keepit simple or not is a tough one, I personally prefer something quick and to the point.. but if you don't add extra features why would people use your search over any other... you need something unique to attract visitors.
