Website Review and Suggestions

Hello,

We have just launched our new brand and our new company site, we have gotten alot of positive responses to the site, but we still are having some bounce rate issues.

We would like to have everyone's thoughts and opinions to let us know what you think can be improved upon to help conversions and bounce rates.

Wow. Finally, a site that doesn't hurt my eyes.

I would suggest cutting the banner in half. It is too big. Also, put it at the very top of your site. Everything else would look better underneath it. It looks out of place where you have it.

You could also do with some better fonts and bigger size in the titles. Also, a little more information about your company would not hurt.

Fix these, and more people might use your service. It is the little things people look for. Personally, I wouldn't use your service because you are web designers and your site is just a bit off. Your main page speaks volumes to a potential customer because of the business you are in. Try taking some of my advice. You will see your business double.

The whole thing is too dark for my liking. I think part of the problem is the blue links are too dark. Also, as has been suggested I think you need to increase the size of your fonts.

You are using Verdana on the banner, I personally don't think this font looks good at the size. Could you try something different? Maybe Myriad Pro light would look nice there.

The Flash movie is a neat touch and used graciously, good job!

Thanks, Yes so far from a couple others I have heard that the font is the main problem. And, I am waiting until like 2 days when I get all reviews in, but that is def. one of the biggest things I am going to increase, alot of people like the verdana but need it to be increased size.

As well as the link colors, those will be changed as well. Keep giving comments I would love to get this converting as much as possible.

bounce rate / conversion issues:

1. you have this rotating banner, yet all it shows are city skylines. why? instead, use that space to showcase your previous work. every image you show should help your website convert viewers and serve some purpose. i don't know why anyone would want your services by looking at photos of skylines.

2. there's no clear call to action on your home page. what do you want your visitors to do when they visit the home page? think about that and focus on that one objective and design your layout around that. i would think the call to action would be the quote form and possibly the portfolio section right? the only links to your quote form and portfolio is located at the lower left as small buttons. it doesn't stand out enough. also, these elements should be more up near the top.

3. there needs to be more call to actions throughout your site. your portfolio has no link/button/form for people to get in contact with you. what if your viewer was impressed with your portfolio and wanted to contact you. it should be made as easy as possible for them to reach you.

general issues:

1. your hover over image in your navigation doesn't match up. some of them "move" when you hover, others don't. however, your menu shouldn't be all images anyways. they should html text. there are ways to accomplish this and still have a hover effect.

2. there needs to be a better balance of spacing between elements. in your services and company page, there's too much vertical space between paragraphs.

3. your portfolio thumbnails need work. you can't just squeeze your images to make them fit the square. looks very unprofessional, like you're too lazy to do it correctly.

4. your footer needs work. it's too simple and just looks like a dark block at the bottom of your site.

5. as stated above, font size and color.

6. i just got around to reading your copy and really, they're very generic. not only that, but there's copy... and that's it. no other images to support your claims. for example:

Quote:

Rather you need a new site layout, a nice banner, or a catchy ad banner designed, let our team of professional designers take your company to the next level.

it's just sounds so generic, and blah. you also have a few typos across your site.

Umm... too much grey I think, and the navigation with the cities doesnt fit into that box which is vista based background... Looks really weird..

The banner is quite big. Over all design looks good. It's just that the site is too gray in my eyes. Then the banner doesn't quite fit with the bacground gradient.
