Add some color and get a better logo. Make the left side smaller and center the main content a little better. Instead of using the ugly page icons, try for something a tad more original and colorful.
Also, grammar. Fix it.
The content looks like it has promise. Not great promise, but I see where you are going with it, and it is not the wrong direction. Step one would be to get better writers. The reason you have not had any luck with social bookmark sites is that the writers have nothing original to say.
You are on the right track. Sort of. If it is more visitors you want, your content has to be better.
