Website Review and Suggestions

This is a not yet launched urban fashion rating / social networking site.

A little about the concept:

RateMyFresh is an online rating site for the fashion savvy. Members can upload pictures
of themselves and have their pictures rated on a scale from one to ten based on
the way they are dressed and their overall sense of fashion.

RateMyFresh is also a social networking site for everything fashion and a great
way to meet people who share the same interest as you.

Tell me what you think about the design and functionality. We tried to keep the design simple.

Very unique idea! Design wise, I think it's lacking some colours, create a separate block for the menu on the left and colour shade it. The top menu too needs some colour. I know you want to keep it simple but it's a fashion and social networking site, so the overall feel of the website must be bold.

Love the concept! The site needs more oomph though. I love the font and look of the intro page. I'd run with that. I'd also definitely add something to the "more fresh people" colum. Color or something. I agree with Tim. It needs to be bold. Bold font/colors. It should be stylish and sleek. IMO

Good luck with that. It's a very good idea!

I agree with you about it needing a little more boldness. The guy I'm doing it with wants to keep the layout very simple. But it definitely could use a little something. Do you think you could toss out any specific ideas? We just don't want the design to be over bearing on the users experience.

I think the layout is nice but I'd try to go with the red/black/white theme. Possibly break it up with those colors. Maybe the top one color/gradiant or something, then the middle nav part a dif color/gradiant and keep the bottom white. I'd make something for the "more fresh people" colum. I really don't like that. I don't know why. It seems blah to me. Like a news website. Not like a cool hip rate my freshness site!

It needs to be more like HEY, CHECK OUT THESE COOL PEPOPLE! lol If that makes sense. I also think you should organize the people somehow. I don't exactly know how. Maybe by date they joined or thier state or age....IDK?! It (the pictures) just seems very "all over the place" right now....

I think it has potential to be great!
