Website Review and Suggestions

I want some opinions for a website that I launched 2 days ago:

Free Image Hosting - Cerzo.com.

It's a small website but with some great features : It's free, and uploaded images can be up to 10 mb, you can upload 15 images in the same time, etc, etc.

The design was made by a friend. I can ask him to change some things.

So.. I wanna hear some opinions about the website.

take a look at http://imageshack.us/. i think it's clear what you can improve on.

for starters, the corny images of guys with a bazillion cameras on them have to go...

I think simple is better for your situation. Getting a nice logo, keeping the homepage clean and clear, and straight to the point will probably lower confusion and frustration for the user. Right now I was kinda turned off with the header image and the mass amount of copy before I got to the core of your content which is to upload images~

the things is , a free service is not depending too much by the design of the site, but mostly of the quality of the service they offer, uptime, etc.

that's when you're wrong. i don't know how you came to this conclusion, but design is everything - usability, trust, effectiveness, it all adds to the overall impression of your site and if someone would immediately know what your site is about and use your service. design is not only about the graphical elements. design is about creating an effective website so that viewers would convert. it's about all the little things that go into fulfilling the purpose of the site.

a bad design can also lead to negative impressions of your site and service. if they see you didn't spend the time and money to put together a decent looking site, why would they believe your quality of service and uptime are any good?

hmm.. yes, you are right , if I think about it.

I think you need a huge upload button, or just make it really stand out so they know it is an image host and not just another boring site.

Everything he said. I'm also a little put off by the Google ads. Less is more my friend.
