Hey. I need to make my site a little less bland and unattractive. I want something added to the site that will catch the readers attention right away. Got any suggestions? I added a picture in the top banner a little while ago, and I think it helped a lot, but I need to add something else.

Here's a link to the site

Thanks

That looks nice, neat and easy to navigate. Not so many ads there, which is good, but I think it is no harms to add more on the proper place.
The top banner, you right, it helps a lot. I just wonder how to associate a man riding a motorbike with your content.

I don't know. I just thought it looked cool. I'll probably get a better pic later on.
Got any suggestions for a good one?

Looks pretty clean.

BTW, i see "There are currently no updates". I suppose that if you have no updates then just do not show this message or show latest articles - it will looks more professional and usable to visitors.

I think your site must show more energy(acording the subject). Try to modify in PS the picture from header...put strong live red for the moto, make green the grass from the background and put also some strong colours on the helmet.

I like the changing picture at the top. And I think any new users would love the content in the right column.

I think you should make the gap where the quicklink drop down is much smaller. Also make your menu and back drop more interesting, either through a gradient shade or through borders in css....just an idea.

Good luck

OK thanks. The dirtbike picture is just a temporary one for now. I'll probably change it in the future to something more relevant to the site.

I increased the line height to 1.5. I don't know if this is good or if it's too much.

And, I will take the suggestion on changing the dropdown menu. I was a little worried about that. Do you have a good color I could change the current one to?

Thanks

I wouldn't change the look of the site.
In this case, "Bland" isn't boring... it's simple. By keeping it simple, it says you are focused on content. It's a "no funny business" look that gives the site a serious and authoritative feel. Sure, there are a few things you could do, but there always will be. I think the overall layout and design is a winner.

Good Luck!

Thanks a lot. I've only been learning about web design for about 2-3 years now. So I'm still pretty new. I usually prefer simple sites like google or paypal. I try to focus on improving my writing skill and producing higher quality content.
