First of all I have do say ****, you are a good artist. Now on to the silly web stuff.
I would say that your left navigation right now is so narrow it's almost unusable. It's a little frustrating to read 7 words stretched out over 4 lines for example. I would recommend making it about twice as wide, possibly even 2.5-3 times wider.
Next, I would say that while your galleries are pretty well done, you might want to think about using a lightbox instead of having seperate pages for all of your images. It would require javascript, but very few users do not have javascript these days, and you could achieve the same effect you have now (text + image scrolling) with better usability and less page reloads.
Also on the galleries, your images seem to be pretty large in file size for how large the images are. I'm not sure if you are using Photoshop, but if you are, I try "Save for web and devices" instead of just "save as" and save as a jpeg of quality 50-80 (personally I think 60 is usually as good as your need for web stuff unless the images are larger than 1200 pixels).
Your typography is pretty good across the site, nice and simple. However, I would recommend reducing the text size on your contact page, it's just awkward as it is now. I understand the want to draw attention to stuff, but it isn't necessary to the degree you have it now.
One thing I noticed is that your logo (on the left side of the masthead) has about three different variations. Sometimes it has a border, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes it has no border but is a little bit bigger. I would recommend keeping your logo the same across all of the pages, however I do like the different banners for different pages.
Kind of going backwords here, a possible way to fix your left navigation width would be to increase the width of your site. I'm sure people will flame me for not adhering to the "people should be able to view your site on a 11 year old monitor" unwritten rule of web design, but personally, I think most people have at least 1024 screens these days. If you don't like that suggestion, I would still suggest that you increase the left navigation's width.
I don't particularly like the colors, but I understand your reasoning about the warm colors; I would recommend sticking to mostly white/grey, blue, green, etc. but in the end it's your site, if you don't make it your own what's the point?
Good luck with your site, and compliments to your obvious talents as an artist.
