Hello,

I am new to the website making and such, and have been looking forward to having a review. I've done 3 reviews for others, hopefully they were helpful, and now I would like one of my own

On my site, I do reviews, but I have other things on it. There are generators, animations, user preference, guitar tablature, tutorials and more, but I just need to know if the code is correct, if there's too much empty space, if it doesn't work well in a certain browser... That stuff.

Thanks!

To check it in other browsers you can use http://browsershots.org/
I'll post my comments in the order of which i notice them. The top header might be a little too large with all the green text. The nav buttons on the left don't appeal to me i don't know why its probably the white glow over the top and change welcome to home, it looks better. Try making under welcome a sort of description of the site. With the reviews and tutorials on the right side its kind of not noticeable to see that you navigate it through there. try making it more visible. With the styles you should change more, like changing the logo because it doesn't fit with lava or rock.

You mean the banner, or the parts that say 'Welcome, Reviews...'?

The white glow makes them look 3D. I really like those buttons, and so does my family and friends, , so I think they're going to stay that way, sorry

I have been thinking about that one for awhile, now. Will do.

That is a great idea! That I will add!

But where do you suppose I put the links to other pages? Nobody looks at the footer, the right side is already full, if I put them there it would be cluttered, so I think they're safe where they are.

True, but changing a company's logo is kind of dumb, it's what you're known for. Look at Pepsi, they changed their font and logo! I liked the old one better, it's been around longer, and It looks like a "hey lok at me" logo, if you know what I mean. I customized the logo to fit the theme, and stitched it, which took me a
L O N G time to do.
I don't think it's changing, at least much, that is.

Thank you very much for your feedback! I'll add them when I get back to my other computer. (It's not on this one )

I think hes saying the actual size of the banner is too big. Is all the green text necessary. IMO its just way too much and the fact that its all the same color green just makes it unattractive. Could you possibly use a second color and then overlap the title over top of that small text?

I like all the alternate backgrounds but they totally clash against the rest of the content that is constant. Is there a way you can make everything change when you do that. So when you select the red button- it all should be red. The green is just hideous there.

As for the content- I actually checked out one of the reviews. If you really wanna be taken seriously they have to be much better. For example- the Guitar Hero/RockBand. There's now explanation what the games actually are. The GH ones are actually the originals so they should be first.

Actually, they really shouldnt be lumped together as they are not released by the same company. (Well kinda but not). THe differences in the GH instruments and the RB instruments really doesnt matter as they are not 100% compatable w/each other. The Wii have zero compatablility as the GH version uses the Wii remotes and RB doesnt.

Theres no mention of downloadable songs or the famous stars in the GH games. The purpose of review is to help the reader make a decision on whether the product is any good and the fact that you gave it 9/10 w/very little explanation wouldnt satisfy anyone.

hi
I agree with the posters above, the banner in my opinion isnt a success. I am left wondering wether I should be able to read the small print, if yes, its too small to make out anything, if no, then to me it seems like a waste of space, could have been done in half or less the size.(All I see is the physics guys reviews text and a bove that some green miniature print)
As far as colors and layout etc go taste issues put aside, the text is clear and legible and so is the navigation. The mouseover on the tabulature page is simply with the lack of a better description, VERY cool, personally hadnt seen that done before.

Nice work
Sami

I didn't make the zoom feature...

You're not supposed to read the mini text, it's really 'lorem ipsum' blahblahbah.

So nobody likes my banner?

BTW, I added The Decision on my guitarherorockband thing check it out sorry im in a hurry
