Hi guys, i'd like to hear your comments & feedback about my latest project - a helper tool for web entrepreneurs.
http://www.dailysitemarket.com.
  • First of all, this tool is still in BETA stage, so please don't take it so serious, keep in mind that, i'll improve to tool based on the feedbacks i got.
  • Secondly, i knowthere's a GREAT CSS bug with Internet Explorer, i'm fixing it out, meanwhile, it works with chrome, safari, firefox.

So what is DailySiteMarket.com?
It's a tool at first hand i coded for my own needs, as im an web entrepreneur whom developing, selling and buying websites. The problem is that there are markets around the web, ie, DP forums, sitepoint and webmaster-talk marketplace.. As these are all based on forums, you've to check all the listings one by one to find the suitable one with you. And nearly no stats are provided within these marketplaces, you've to check alexa, google, yahoo and compete.com on your own for each website that you're interested.

So the idea of a website arised, where you can see the latest listings from these marketplaces, sort them (ie the monthly revenue, the monthly visitors/uniques and so on..) and provides a central place that merges information from most-of the avaible web-statics tools around the web.

So before diving into details let me paste a screenshot, so you guys can get a quick preview:

So let me explain the parts and functionalities.

Sortable Table
Clicking any table header will sort the column.

The Site Details
This is the main popup screen for the users. When user clicks any row on the table, the popup will come to viewport which provides statical data about the site.

Hosting Location
When the user clicks the magnifier near hosting information field a new popup will come with a google maps embedded that marks the location of the hosting company.

Site Preview
A site preview popup is also there for users, can be accessed by clicking the magnifier near the domain & ip name in site details popup

(moving to next post because of the image limitation)

Compete Profile
if you click the [profile] link in the compete stats section, a new popup will come which show traffic rank & trust info from compete.com

Except the site preview popup, while the popups are already open, if you click another listing, the popup's will refresh and render the new listings related data. Preview popup is an exception, as opening every website will need a huge traffic so instead, for each website you've re-click preview magnifier icon.

What i ask is please, comment on the layout, the bugs, the tools. Please list the functionalities & tools you want to see on. Hope it's a useful tool for the community.

Also the data is updated on every 15mins, and right now the data is only aggregated from sitepoint marketplace, but dp forums and webmaster-talk marketplace support is on the way..

You might want to size down your screenshots in your future posts.. It's kind of annoying to have to scroll horizontally just to read a post.

This utility may be useful for you, but I don't see that it has that much to offer the average person. If someone is looking to purchase a site as a money
making enterprise, wouldn't you think they would do their own homework? Seriously, as a business person, why should I trust you do do all of my
marketing research? Do you offer a money back guarantee that your information is correct? Do you receive commission on sales? Why would you refresh
the data every 15 minutes? I don't think any of the stats can change in that period of time.
My site gets crawled once every day or two... not every 15 minutes. I would think once a day would be more than enough.

I also think you need a tutorial page... I mean, look at all of the explaining you had to do in your initial post. I, for one, think it is a confusing page.
There is no introductory statement, no listed purpose, no obvious navigation and nothing on the site gives the impression of authority.
This should be an interior page of some other site or part of a suite of tools. I would also think you would want some type of search capability.
It might be more useful as a tool to compare your site to your competition's.

This may seem harsh, but it isn't intended to be. You said not to take the site too seriously but, judging by the way you posted the request,
I think you take the site very seriously indeed. I figure that if you are that serious about the site then you would appreciate an honest review.

Good luck with your site!

taking it serious was about it being a beta phase, i appreciate your comments, i don't except all people to get using the site, it's a just tool that still "beta", and i'd start documentation when i'm finished with the conceptual design.
