First I'd like to say I like the concept. I'm a fan of auctions both live and online. The layout of the auction is pretty user friendly.
I did notice that I had a hard time reading the text if the background was the diagonal stripes (such as on the "help" page). Maybe a larger font would help this problem. Also (I'm not sure what causes this) the characters on the help page become "garbled" such as:

Maybe someone can tell us what causes that. Could be my system reading the characters incorrectly
