Heya guys, I just bought a website from a guy for 2 yrs (not the domain, just the rights to use the domain) and did a complete redesign.
I am confused as to have I overdone it in terms of colors or what.. any feedback or criticism will be highly appreciated. Please review the website here.
Do keep in mind that am still a noob, and far from being an expert, so be a bit less harsh if I messed anything too badly :P
...we all have a right to choose "those special" friends.
Is it a website for gay and lesbian networking?
The theme is very pink and purple (strong gay/lesbian colors).
If so, congratulations. It looks great!
I can' see any explanation of the premise for the sight
and you used the inverted commas which as most native
English speakers would know implies some alternative interpretation
so I'm just guessing that you have some ..um.. special target group?
Loose the rotating banner at the bottom.
It is annoying as bejesus.
Too many fonts.
And why isnt there a HOME link in the nav bar?
Join button should be isolated and more prominent.
Do you want people to join or not?
I certainly dont like all the movement on the homescreen or the color combinations. I find too much unused space, too many moving graphics, and although a professional looking site, one that is unattractive to me.
You should standardize the top navigation , some pages are showing it with smaller fonts than others. Also on the actual Nav buttons you should add a mouseover to them.
I don't understand how you purchased the right to use the domain name but not the domain name itself? Why wouldn't you want the domain name itself if you are working on the website? That doesn't make any sense to me.
