Website Review and Suggestions

Just recently finished this web hosting review site. Please critique it and give me your opinions. URL: Top Hostia

Header looks disconnected from the main body.

Search box is swimming alone in a sea of white space.

Too many advertisements to make sense of the content.

There is something wrong with the TOS, Privacy and Contact links.
When I mouse over I get a carrot not a pointer.

I don't like the way the categories sub-menu pushes the content
down and back up again. Looks a bit cheap.

You should have a HOME link on the main nav.

I think you could do a more interesting header graphic and logo.

Thank you TWD for your review. I am implemented some changes from your review, namely the legal section and the number of advertisements.

I neglected to add a link to the homepage named "Home" because the homepage actually is the "New Reviews" page which is highlighted when on the homepage. User are also able to get back to the homepage by click the logo.

But less savy users might not know that.

Think of it this way. When you walk into a building,
don't you always want to know how to find the
front door again?
For a web user a HOME link is the front door.
You should at least have a secondary link called HOME on every page.

Its good, evrything looks perfect but i guess the coloring scheme needs a change as white look too ordinary. Try filling up the blank white background with another cooler/calmer color.

Thank you all for your reviews. I have implemented more changes in the layout to fix some of the things you suggested.

chatterbox01, is there any color you recommend?

Its looking much better now that you have made a few changes.

I think the color layout look ok.

One thing I still dont like is that when I mouse over
categories it pulls out the submenu and the rest of the
page drops about 20pixels.
Users dont like that kind of "dancing" behaviour.
You should fix that.
