Website Review and Suggestions

CornsnakeMorphGallery.com

The goal was to build a gallery that illustrates the variety between cornsnakes of every mutation while allowing members to easily submit photos themselves. The website needed to be clean and stand out with an automatic recognition with its design. We're up to 116 morph pages and 132 images in just two short months!

This website uses PhotoSmash, a WordPress plugin, to function as it does. Currently I'm getting an invalid error due to some of the plug-ins and I'll look into cleaning that up soon.

This sites twin, BallPythonMorphGallery.com will be launched very soon!

You mean There are..

Looks like a nice site.
Nice JavaScript Lightbox effects.

I think you could come up with a more creative logo.
Something a bit "snakey"

Also your front page has too many words.
You could throw about about have the prose and
still get your message across.

Also, make it a bit more compelling.
Rather than a long list about submission rules,
how about some interesting facts about
cornsnakes to get people interested in your site.

I think I need to clarify my first post a bit more...The purpose is not to provide facts about the species but to provide a Gallery of mutations within. The users of this site already know the general information and care requirements for Cornsnakes, this site is geared toward those actually in the hobby researching genetics and morphs.

Having a snake themed logo for a snake website is so cliche' which is why I didn't do it. Furthermore, it would effect the branding of the group of sites (their will be quite a few of them eventually, not all snakes) as I would have to create a different logo per species instead of swapping out color and species.

And yes, I'm aware of favicons. I haven't decided how I want to handle those with these websites yet. Not so simple with the branding I'm after...Ugg...

overall looks nice but the picture plugin is too slow. its talking too much time to load an image. also, many of the pages has no content, so maybe its better to first load some text then add more elements to the menu.

The loading...Do you think it's my ISP or the actual plug-in? I ask because I had similar complaints on another website I have (ReptiWiki.com) which does not operate this particular plug-in.

I like the layouts but IMHO the fonts are a little too big. Maybe something smaller would be better??
