Okay here it is guys and girls... Many sleepless nights the past 2 weeks and I finally have a finished product with over 400 articles.

I need you guys to review it and if you find ANYTHING that needs improved let me know!

TWD I'm waiting for you to chop it up

The only thing I can think of to be concerned about is that my google adsense ads sometimes display ads about actual traffic and speeding tickets rather than website and internet traffic. If anyone knows how I can solve this, please tell me.

Note: The reason I made the colored banners is because it looked too blue and needed some more color to it.

Hah ha
Well I like to think that I am harsh but fair and give praise where
it is due.

In fact, apart from the red text (which is almost always a mistake on a website) I think your design is very nice indeed.
I was impressed with the navigation, especially since its all CSS driven.
The polls are a great idea.
The header is well done.
It has a pleasing background graphic.
Overall a very nice JOOMLA CMS!

However
I would try to get somebody to proof read your articles.
I picked just one at random and found this:

Quote:
To get a person to go to a site than others, it needs to be very visible. Providing ads that could direct potential consumers and costumers to their site would allow them to have an increase in traffic as well as sales
Can you spot the mistakes?

And in places you say "website" and in other places "web site".
You need to be consistent.

The articles themselves look full of good advice.
To dress them up a bit better consider the following.
  • Write more bullet point lists. It makes it easy to consume information.
  • Add a few more interesting, related graphics within the body of the posts.
  • Add some pullquotes that highlight a "pearl of wisdom" from each article. Joomla might have an extension for that.
Sorry, I cant help with the Adsense problem but I am pretty sure there is fine grain filter control for those types of things. Check the Google Adsense FAQ.

Overall, looks like you've got the beginnings of a good site.
I have bookmarked it

Thanks for the review man. Yeah I need to look over my articles. At the time, I was just wanting to get them all up on there and didn't take the time to format them or proof read them much. That will be something that I have to do one by one as I get the time.

I also agree that I need more related pictures throughout my articles.. they do look kinda dull. More bullet points wouldn't be a bad idea either. As far as the pullquotes... I'll have to check on the extensions, but it would help the layout of my articles.

You should add an RSS feed icon too.
I dont remember seeing one.
Again, there should be a Joomla extension for that.

I also thought about that.. I'm not sure where I will have it feeding from though, I'll have to check out what Syndic8 and some other sites has to offer. RSS is something I don't have a lot of experience with. I never used it because when I place it on my site it always links to the persons site who wrote the feed, which is traffic going out rather than traffic staying at my website. Is there a way to use the feed to link the article on my website?

I'm sure Joomla does have an extension for it.. I think I downloaded one and just never put it on there. RSS definately helps with SEO.

Also, where would I put the RSS Feed? Here are my options...
  • Make it a separate article with a link at the top.
  • Replace the existing homepage article with an RSS Feed.
  • Place the RSS Feed at the bottom of each of my articles.
  • Place it on the side bars.
Things I need to do so far:

1) Proof-read articles
2) Add images in articles where appropriate.
3) Synchronize words (website instead of web site, auto responders instead of autoresponders..etc)
4) Use pull-quotes on articles with important phrases.
5) Add an RSS feed

Most of this has to do with my articles (they need revised and formatted)

Keep the suggestions coming, they are greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I added 2 RSS feeds to the bottom (not aligned like I want them to be, just showing them as an example.) Should I use someone elses RSS or should I create my own and use it as the homepage for the content?

I guess it would be better to have my own RSS Feed than to actually use someone elses. This allows me to help my SEO and get returning visitors with it.

what i mean is that as new articles get added to the site, I would
like to see them appear on my Google Reader list.
You should ask somebody in the Joomla community how
to go about it.
Also check out FeedBurner.
Its part of Google now.

I understand now. I'm making an XML page right now to produce a rss feed. The only downfall to it is that every time I want to add something to my rss feed I will have to edit that XML file in order for it to show up...

ok scratch the XML RSS, I've looked everywhere for a joomla friendly rss system.

when I try creating an rss in xml I get an error with my links according to the xml page when I try to load it. It brings up like it is going to let you subscribe with live bookmarks but displays no articles. It doesn't help when my articles have links that are extremly long.

Code:
http://tipsforwebtraffic.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=133:how-to-make-use-of-cheap-internet-banner-advertising&catid=42:article-marketing&Itemid=138
the size of that link is ridiculous! The xml error said unexpected semicolon, and I really don't know a way around it. I don't really need an RSS page as far as SEO goes because I will be updating my page on a daily basis with new content anyways.

I will look over my articles and try to format them to be more reader friendly.

I also changed my links to a different color. The red was a bit much... I think it looks better with the blue that I have on there now.

Hello guys and girls,

It has been a little over a week since I last got this website reviewed. I have taken the suggestions I got from last time and tried implementing them the best I can.

Here is what I have done since:
  • Changed links at the top
  • Done some article marketing for hosting affiliate
  • Placed affiliate banners
  • Proof-read/formatted more articles
  • Added a blog
  • Added an RSS
www.tipsforwebtraffic.com

Please tell me what
  • You do like
  • You do not like
  • How I can make this website better
  • How I can get you to be a reader and/or RSS subscriber and/or newsletter subscriber
This information will help me in marketing this website and getting more visitors.

Also, I have been submitting articles to a few article directories, including digg.com. Does anyone have any suggestions on where are good places to submit articles that will give quality backlinking?
