Website Review and Suggestions

Please review my website and make recommendation for potential improvements.

The site Spiritual Couples is not finalized yet, however you can see the main design idea behind it.

I'm not a fan of the thick 3px white border you put around all of your design elements. To me its not very modern with today's Web Standards (Web 2.0). Reminds me of something created back in the early 90's.

Your header text is very pixelated (http://www.spiritualcouples.com/images/header.png). Your able to smooth this out using Photoshop. Also, the text is to close to the bottom (http://www.the-pixel.com/screen/20091002-7hq-21kb.jpg) and part of the top content box repeats and looks off. Best of luck!

As The-Pixel said; the 3pt-stroke is a bit strong and rookie-ish. Not keen on the inner shadow either.
website seems a bit heavy - I guess this might be down to the transparency in your PNGs in order to cater for your background but if you place your CSS/HTML well, you could pull off a JPG placement of your website and cut the website loading time by half.
Your background image: you should add a gradient out at the far right of the image and have the final cut-off colour set as your background-color so those on super widerscreens won't see a cut-off image but a natural blend from image into background
You sliced your images incorrectly. Why did you slice the content box (http://www.spiritualcouples.com/mindimages/lovecell.png) as 4 big boxes? Why not slice the top end and bottom and 1px height of central and have that repeat for a much faster experience.

Yeah I agree with chimeara with an overall appealing design for the target market; however, it is a bit subpar as far as today's Web 2.0 blogging standards. See this site for example --> retailmenot.com

But all in all, it's a great start and most developers know that websites are an ongoing process and you will make plenty of improvements as time goes on. I would highly recommend building the pages with as much fresh, unique, keyword-rich content to rank on the SE's for "spiritual love" which btw is the only search phrase that has a good amount of search traffic out of "spiritual couples", "spiritual lovers", "find spiritual partner" and others.

I would also suggest giving away a free ebook on relationships via an opt-in form to build your email list.

unusual colour scheme but it fits the site

resizxing text means it breaks out the boxes.

italic text for everything is too much - italics are meant for setting off text from the main copy in some way, not for the whole of the copy!

there is no height attribute for table - let it grow or shrink with the content

how come the guy in the header is looking at the bird and not at the lady?
