This is the second time that i pulled off a “clean” design that i feel happy with. I would like to get other input to get a general consensus about the design (ignore the content, it is just starting):

Contact information doesn't have any phone number, adress, etc. I dont know if this is on purpose but its something to consider.

The large quote box under the header is a little too big for me, and too much contrast with the rest of the page, which would make it more visible but given its placement and size is not needed.

and idk if its just me or not, but the google adds thing is going into the middle of the page and i cant read some of the content "..Home Care(?)..is completely blocked.

Hmm i'm guessing that you're using IE7 or 6; i noticed that they did that for 6 and 7, but were fine for 8 and FF. I set the overflow to hidden to temporarily "band-aid" that, but i guess that google must z-index their way back out of it.

I understand about the big parts, but i wanted them larger than normal because mostly old people will be here, and they're not good at learning how to resize the text on the web page.

As far as contact info, i'm not really finished --or even started-- with content yet, but there really won't be any contact info anyway because this is not an agency website; i got stuck with this site by a client that backed out, so i changed the design and i've got a new idea for it

Thanx for the help!

I think that 6 and 7 are adding another 1 or 2 pixels of padding or margin to the ads, which is what breaks them. I just added another 2 pixels to the width, would you mind refreshing it and seeing if it still breaks it?

Edit, i made it another 4 pixels now, so it should be fine. I'm gonna check with browsershots (i use Linux, so i have no clue what it looks like in IE and can't test with it. Thank god for browshershots).

I doesn't look very professional because it is all covered in AdSense. If you goal is to make money off AdSense than that is fine I guess.

Otherwise you might want to only have ads at the bottom, or better yet, not at all

There is no way I would use any professional services from a company that is so concerned with making 2 pence of my Adsense click.

That is not what this site is about. Today, i am going to focus on content, and hopefully by the end of the day it will be a little more clear as to this site's purpose. In the long run, the ads may be completely removed; for now i put them in there to try to recover my expenses.

I do not feel the black footer fits the design at all. Also, get rid of the Google Ads they look tacky. One more thing to consider is stretch the navigation blue background all the way across, example: http://www.the-pixel.com/screen/20091024-yd3-16kb.jpg Overall you did a great job. Best of luck!

Hey, thanks; i appreciate the feedback. I have been thinking of doing that with the blue bar at the top; but for some reason i'm also fascinated with it the way it is. I don't know....

Thanx

HA! I played around and adjusted the blue bar, and the background image (just a bit), and it looks a LOT better now . Also, i've been fighting the footer argument for a long time, and a LOT of people do NOT not it, but i've been in love with it; but, i changed it, and i guess that it looks better now.... (may need a refresh).

Thanx!

The site looks much better. One other suggest is I think your footer is way to big for the site. Half of the current footer would be more then enough, but that's just me. Also, what is the deal with all of the Google Advertising? I think it looks tacky and unprofessional and this website NEEDS to be professional.

Well the ads are temporary; i'm trying to recover my costs on this until it is ready for real users (1 to 2 months from now.).
