Yeah, both designs are so-so... looks like 2 hours of work The first one is too plain, too much blue, no decent graphics. The second one is better on top. I would place search users | Login | Register higher on the darker background line and make it #FFF. I also think it will look better if the content will hava a solid background, instead of a transparenty one that you have,
