Does anyone else agree with that? I find that most people come to your site don't want to read paragraphs of text. So i have that header section with a straight to the point explanation of what the site is about.

I agree, I had a look at the site before reading above comment and was going to say exactly the same thing - the header is too big and i'm using a bigish monitor.
your logo 'ripe website manager' is really good and the big header makes hides it a bit.
have you thought about making the home page more intereactive i..e changing 'your admin area' 'visitor stats' and screenshots into internal links?
The site is simple but thats good - just keep building and experimenting - how about ability to share (addthis), social bookmark and retweet content?
i agree that the header occupies way to much space, it would be better if you could see most of the section below without having to scroll down, especially being your landing page.
The design is good enough, but you can't sign up from the homepage, you have to click on features and then scroll all the way to the bottom, to then be brought to another page. Just make another navigation link that says "Sign up" and "Login"
Cheers, that's some really good information and tips.

Yes the content on that homepage is going to change dramatically soon. There's going to be an image slideshow with captions, each slide will be a link too. There will also be latest article summaries, new template designs and modules. There's a lot of more work that will be going into it also. Social networks and bookmarks is a good idea.

That is actually a good point made. Although you could of clicked the give it a try link in the header. I agree that the link is not that apparent though. Other pages also have a sign up flag style banner on the right. I will defiantly make a more obvious link on the front page though. Cheers.

ok I guess the header needs a reduction in size. I believe 1024x768 is the most used resolution now.
Thanks again. Any more tips are welcome.

I agree that the logo should be moved to the top of the page, but I personally don't mind the huge header trend.
The rest of the design seems off to me though.
Design colors/patterns/elements are a bit random. Either too heavy on the blue element's bevel/gloss/shadows or too dark and matte on the green and black - not sure which way you want to go here, but these elements are going in entirely different directions design-wise.
Cheers, that's some really good information and tips.

Great, the changes are good, and your website in my opinion is complete.
