I got a rating for this forum website abut 5 months ago. And took much of the feedback into consideration and applied it.

"old thread"
http://www.webmaster-talk.com/websit...ike-forum.html

The website is www.crfhq.com

The member base and forum activity is still pretty slow, but the traffic has picked up a lot from 5 months ago. It has the updated invision software now with a custom designed template. We also installed an SEO program which seems to help a decent bit.

The main thing we are worried about is people losing interest on the site, we need a lot more members and more active posters. Any suggestions?

I'm looking into a CMS and to have daily/weekly content postings to help get a better search engine rank and userbase, but there has to be other things we can do to get active posters without solely relying on content.

Thanks or the help,
Taylor

Thanks, we have put a lot of work into since we first started it. There's still a few things as far as the design and usability we have to do. But most importantly we are trying to attract members and have them post. We have contests every month and a prize every other month almost. We dump a good bit of money and time into this website and so far the results aren't nearly where we would like to see them.

How do the links look? The SEO software changes all links from dynamic to static. The domain crfhq.com has a 301 redirect to crfhq.com/forum/..... Is this the correct way to redirect? Google has both the domain, and the forum homepage link on google, I would like it to just be one.

We are working on content, we will download invision's new integrated CMS system which seems very simple and nice for a forum website. And the updated content we place we believe will bring in more users.

Any other ideas for getting a good member base? We are not looking to sign up advertisers/sponsors/ or place any google ads on the website until we have a larger group of satisfied members.

Thanks and I appreciate the help and criticism.
