What i like:
it couldnt get any simpler than that,
i like the background, you mind if i copy it?
loads quickly, gives shortened url quickly,

What could be improved on:
Maybe if you have the text copied to the clipboard when its clicked on, instead of manual CP

when i hover the mouse over the shorten button, the site did not tell me what it was, and i was unsure about what clicking it would do, maybe a label for that button would be helpful,

When I click on the submit button without entering a URL, it still gives me a result. You might want to fix that.

Where's the submit button? All I can see is a square icon with two "A"'s in it.

Of course after a while I sussed it out, but please name your button according to the action it performs - something like "Create link" would do perfectly

Well in all reality, yes, that would be much better. But that is the logo for decrease.it, or at least the favicon as well, and when you hover over it it says decrease it.

I think most people can make the general assumption that it is the submit button, especially when there is nothing else there. In fact I don't know why it took you a while to figure it out.

But I love the design of the site, it is quick, fast, and easy to use.

You have obviously never used a URL shortener before. Put that URL into the address bar and it will redirect you to your long URL. Hope this helps.

The hover text gives me the site domain name, not what clicking the image does, I know it's a play on words, but not everyone will realise it

I was initially surprised when I couldn't see an obvious button, and that's with 11+ years using the net! To me it's a usability/accessibility issue where usability has been overlooked in favour of the "branding".

1. One benefit could be hiding your referral link form others.

This will increase your referral numbers (my guess).

2. If you are a twitter fan then this is the perfect too for twitter update. Instead of those long URL, you can simply put this short ones. 150 character update in twitter is sometimes not good enough.

Very well done, I must say.

. Check your site with many browsers to be sure though. Sometimes when I click the decrease it logo half of the page is white, I'm using Chrome.

I built the site in Chrome so I hope there isn't any problems there! Although I do know what you mean, every so often Chrome decides it will cut off some of the background. But I think this is a Chrome issue rather than a website issue.

Well it depends on how long the URL your trying to decrease is in the first place. It is designed for URL's like
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/120771...specifications
where it would be far better to have a URL like http://decrease.it/20

Edit: Ha, even the forum system shortened that URL it was so long!

Now this is a spectacular site. This is so stupidly easy to use, and the look of it actually makes you want to use it again and again. Good work, you pull no punches with this

I have now changed the submit button to a simple arrow, so I hope the covers the issue of it not being obvious how to submit the URL
