Website Review and Suggestions

I decided my original site was not up to scratch so I had it re designed, although I've only completed the home page I'd appreciate some feedback so far.

This is the new design: www.electrifire.co.uk/new_site

I intend to make a flash image to go where the large picture is, does anyone have any suggestions of where I can buy photo's of my market, electrical - lighting, fire alarm - smoke detectors / fire alarm panel etc

The new layout looks good, i would retain the same colours what you have on your current site. The colours look better on your current site.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have changed the href links, arrows and telephone to red and changed the blue to grey / black.

I've made life easy by splitting the page into sections which is created as the page loads using php, for example the footer, menu and right side bar are different files and in the code is

<?php
require("menu.php");
?>

I really do think this will save loads of time

The new site looks great, a lot better than the first one the colors and the layout is really nice and it looks more professional than the first site did.

Looks very nice.

Much cleaner than the previous one.

However both sites are fine. ( newer one better )

looks very clean! you need to resize your logo properly and export it as a gif or 8-bit png

Looks good,
However your flash is either show slowly here or it needs speeding up a bit.

Also the images in your flash animation could do with being a bit more higher res.. They are quite blocky.

Yeah I agree the images could do with higher resolution, I think there is 2 out of the 6 which look ok

It is quite an improvement over the original and looks more current. Except the images which it appears you area already working on.

First impression is that this is a very clean site. The navbar is *exactly* where it should be. You wouldn't believe how many people have no idea where to put a navbar. The amount of whitespace on your site is fine because you properly square up all your boxes to give it a blog feel, and this is great. Having to scroll down somewhat sucks, and I would imagine that anything that needs to be scrolled down to will be overlooked.

I can't see the old design for the site however the new design looks very nice. Clean & professional, nice job.
