I really like the concept, and I would like to congratulate you on having a consisten colour scheme throughout.
The title slug "Partnering with donorschoose.org..." needs greater contrast to the background so that it is more legible. It's an important aspect of your cause that needs more emphasis. Furthermore, it could be achieved with regular styled text as opposed to being an image.
There is a thick black seperator between the header and the content, which is too contrasting to the rest of the site. Making it thinner and lighter would still convey seperation, but it wouldn't be so stark.
The main issue I have with your site is the actual content. I first started reading on the When. This is because I was more interested in finding information than being swayed by the emotive images. This is how it SHOULD be for maximum impact. Whilst it wasn't much of a problem, it did seem disorganised in my mind until I realised I had read it in an unintended order. Remember, our eyes are naturally positioned for top left to bottom right reading (unless you've been brought up in a left-right language, but it's still top to bottom). The images should not lead information, they should augment it. I recommend making it more of a natural sequence; header, information, image floating to the right. This method would also allow you to apply more information to each section (or have a link/ expand to read more information).
It's also bad practice to have text as image. It takes longer for page load, increases bandwidth usage for both owner and visitor, is potentially less legible, can not be resized effectively, and can not be highlighted. Use regular text instead.
Bevelled and inner-shadow images only work if done right. Yours look 90s FrontPage esque. A cleaner image, especially when concerning such a topic, is much nicer than effect filled.
In any case, I wish you the best of luck with your organisation. If you require any assistance in terms of design or the mark-up, just drop me a PM, I will be willing to help.
