Website Review and Suggestions

Barring missing content (new pages) and the poor placement of ads at the bottom of the pages (will improve looks here soon).

Is the layout easy enough for all to follow? And what do people think of the looks, logo etc?

The navigation is just fine.

The logo needs refinement and to be clickable to the front page to improve navigation. Not really complete though so check back when you progress farther with the design portion of it. Regarding the placment of navigation its fine burt you may want to move the categories to the right as that is more common for a blog.

I think it looks fine, one question: What is the use of showing the amount of spam blocked in one of the most prime spots of the page?

Granted and I have got someone making a logo for me. Similar looking but better quality. Did mean to make logo clickable but never got round to it until today.

I was was simply playing around with the sidebar widgets to get both columns as even as possible. Have found better arrangement (Spam Widget not included) for now and will look into something more permanent via the theme editor soon.

Its a nice layout, i really do not like the colors, and every time i clicked a link it was unable to connect.

Please please please more inviting colors. These colors definitely make it like a job from 1998's. A better footer too.

The fonts in the content box become too dim for my vision at the bottom of each post on the home page. I am sure that was not intended.

You can reduce the size of your header too, so that the content moves up in the screen.

menu design does not look good. just try to make them more flat. and take the left ad to right side.

Right. I have been at it again. I have made the whole site wider now. I have also made a new navigation bar. I have made the sidebars blend in with the background. And I have resized the header and footer backgrounds so they aren't so high.

Now what does everyone think???

After practicing with web-designing for a few weeks now, I decided to try and build a proper website from scratch, which will replace the site in this thread eventually. I have only spent a few days on it and it is still in early development.

For now I would appreciate any opinions on the look of the site. I have still, to work on the layout of the content.

For now the site is placed in the following location.

If you using Wordpress try downloading themes to it, you can google ( free wordpress themes ) . After you find the design you looking for, download the zip file and upload to wordpress. Menu ( appearance - add new themes - upload ) after you done that go to Menu ( appearance - themes ) and activate the theme you just uploaded.

Seems like there is a whole lot of content for one page and the site has an overwhelming amount of ads. How long would you stay on the site if you yourself had not designed it?

The General layout is good-looking and navigates well. Definitely lose one of the ads on the bottom.

Looks much better than the first one but is very plain for now (probably due to no images, less content, etc.) but it is a good base to build on.

Initialy I started out going by what a friend was saying about seo and internet marketing. It wasn't all its cracked up to be in my opinion. I learn't some useful things mind you. But this year I have found myself going all in for web design. Have had a fair bit of practice now with html / css. Am now even beginning to learn php. Am currently 3 chapters into "Visual Quickpro Guide PHP & MySQL 5" by Larry Ullman. Is a bit daunting but I'm making progress.

Have completely removed the old site now and moved my project to the main domain. I've still to ad some pictures and graphics to the content pages and home page etc. Right now I am interested in opinions on my categories page. I have added an expand / collapse script to the sub categories.

Again I've still to ad graphics, so for now please tell what you think of the layout and navigation categories page. And the navigation of the site in general.
