Website Review and Suggestions

Hey guys,
Some may remember my "Wordpress Mountain" review thread a while back, however, due to legal trademark issues, I changed the name to Engipress and gave it an entirely new look.

Anyway, I'd like feedback on the freelance business in general, persuasiveness of the primary pages, etc. and the vBulletin forum. Concerning the forum, I just need to make sure everything runs smoothly, plugins work for members, styles are consistent, etc. Or if there's anything else you can think of relating to Engipress in general, that'd be great too.

I have seen your business site and I found it quite good but it seems that the color you use for the site is not that appropriate, better to put some light colors and blend it with those dark blue shades. I can see the concept of your business site and that is thumbs up for me

I personally like dark sites, they are easier on the eyes, the only thing that i do not like is the bubbles with the graphics in them, they look too big, otherwise it looks good.

I'm not looking for design advice specifically (and I happen think my design is much better than my previous one), but what do you mean? The text IS a light color (white to be exact), which offsets the darker colors of the template design.

As I said before, I'm mainly looking for usability, copywriting, and forum functionality advice.

Thanks, I definitely agree darker ones are easier on the eyes too.

I admit I'm not the best graphic designer, but I did come up with those myself. Is it just the size of the navigation icons, or the entire look I gave them?

I'm not talking about the bubbles on the top i am talking about the bubbles that are going down the left side with i believe the blocked symbol in them the red circles with a slash through them.

It may be that they are too big looking, it just looks weird for some reason but i can not figure out why.

You mean on my forum?

Those icons just represent that a forum is closed for posting, and they're the same size as the rest of the forum status icons.

Does it have to do with the browser your using? Here's they're actual size:

Does it still look big? Or what exactly is weird about it?

Also, I could just give the "no new posts" status icons by default instead:

Does this one look better, or just as weird, meaning it's the icons overall that just don't flow as well?

No that is the exact size i see, but i think the reason i do not like the bubble icons is because your site has a metallic feel to it, then when you get to those bubbles it looks different, that is why i think it looks weird to me.

I like the color of the site but I like dark sites. The only thing I might do is center the words on top of your navigation buttons on your main page. I like the overall feel of the forum too it wraps nicely with the site.

I see what you mean, I actually borrowed the status icons from my old forum skin, maybe I'll try to find some better ones.

Good point about the centering, but what do you mean by "I like the color of the site but I like dark sites"? Isn't it a darker site?
