Website Review and Suggestions

I recently redesigned my personal website, I also added a blog powered by Tumblr. I'm still in the process of adding more things, but I would like some comments or suggestions,

Greg,

I like the colors of the page, they bring attention to the text below your name at the head of the page. I also like the lightbox feature, I have it as a feature on my website as well. One thing you might want to consider is having links under the "What I can Do For You" title. I was drawn to this and was hoping that each line would have it's own link. This would give a potential client a direct route to what they are interested in. Just a thought. Great site.

When people like you ask for reviews it makes people like me think badly about my own talents...

I mean comon you can't be that insecure over a website that looks like that can you?

Thanks Richard, I def agree with you about those links, I actually had the same link setup on my older website and a lot of people mentioned that to me, I def have to get working on that. I was thinking about having those links open in a lightbox style window also with a short summary about them and some pictures. Thanks for the comments

The way I see it, every website is very different and unique. There are a ton of websites I look at and get the same feeling, but at the end of the day we are all trying to learn more things and get better at what we do :-)

Looks decent but i do not like the blue textured background, and the top part of your site does not go all the way to the right hand side when viewed with a 800 x 600 screen resolution.

And i really like the hover effect on the bottom images that is slick.

Nice design and content and also loads fast.
but eats up a lot of cpu speed and ram in my computer may be because of the image shadowing effect you are using there.

Try to optimise it.

I've gotta hand it to you, your tumblr theme looks awesome. I'm playing around with tumblr now, it's really very easy to design with.

Thanks, I still have a lot of little details I still have to figure out, but overall I think Tumblr is great and I would recommend it to anyone who loves simplicity. You can pretty much apply Tumblr to any theme you can think of.

I like your page a lot. My only thing I'd recommend is to add a home button on the top. I got trapped in your blog. haha.

This is good work. Very nice use of white space, color scheme is pleasant. I don't know how I feel about the content text being faded from the beginning. Also, get some call to actions in there, you are directing the visitor well, but now it's time to make them see what you want them to view.

Also consider a contact form for either your blog or site, something simple, might help with your conversions.

I think it would be nice if you can add links to the content of your slider (ie: being able to click your email). You should also make the slider reset the timer after manually switching the slide so it doesn't scroll twice in a row.

Other than that, I find the color scheme + the page layout very neat!

Although that desktop is totally badass and if thats your work, I would totally accept a reason for everything being so big was to fit that. The only thing stopping me from clicking back to it on every slide was the Grass/sky was was almost as good.

Oh and the background texture rocks too.
