i'm a web designer with design block. i've put together this site which is to become my main business site for internet marketing and design services. But i'm stuck where to go from here to finish it. I'm thinking it might be a bit of a hectic design.

http://scottydonald.com/

The plan is to release a generic version of the theme as a free wordpress theme. Let me know what you think!!!

yep - too busy

fade down the background

remove the bold from the main copy (leave it just for headings)

use a bit more white space

Looks good, i think maybe you should not use all bold font on your site, and i really like your logo.

Its looks good, But i think the volume needs turning down a bit.

My eyes almost exploded with the strange amount of nothing going on, But seeming like theres LOTS going on.

Good design , But a bit "Pow in ya face"

This is ok. It's a bit rough around the edges, but if you are attempting to shock, or attract a certain type of niche, then you've got something here. I suppose design is every man's game, so I'd say pretty creative, almost unique in it's design.

Not bad, but nothing outstanding or even outside of ordinary. Alignment, or the lack there of, offers no fluid layout (ie. first bit of content is centered text, rest is left or block text). Past that I don't really think it is too much, just looks incomplete without any structure for the content/images/etc.

I love the template design that you use for your site. You use appropriate colors for it and you blend them well. When I see your site I knew already on what will be the services of your site. The font must be a bit smaller

It's overcreative site. The font size is too big, should be decreased to great extent. Colours used are nice with average layout.

I love the background! it just screams unique to me. Font might be a bit too big but not bad. The bolding makes important words stand out too. Good logo...it states the point right away.

I think the readability could use some work. Break it up into logical sections or paragraphs. Every sentence on its own line screams second grade.

Looks better with more structure in the content, buddy. Have you tried adding horizontal rules ( <hr /> ) to give your content "breaks". Thus, it won't look like one big content paragraph now that you have everything right aligned. Even if you don't like I said before still looks better than the first time I viewed her Good luck mate.

I agree--it depends on who your desired customers are. This would be fine if were trying to attract art/design/media-oriented businesses, but obviously not something more formal like realtors or an accounting firm.

It is definitely different. There are a few points for the index page

One - Other than the menu which kind of gets forgotten once one moves along lower, there is no call to action to proceed further. What do I do next? without scrolling back up.
Two - The band of logos (list of clients?) gives an end of page feeling when there is a lot more beneath it.
Three - The call to action at the end is almost unnoticeable

The inner pages are fine though overall the site still feels a bit rough and needs more finish. As others have mentioned the font is one of them.

My 2 cents :-)

One thing I was taught is that you should never use pitch black (#000000) or pure white (#FFFFFF) in a design - they add too much of a harsh, sharp feeling. I'm thinking you could set your copy to #222 or something like that. Just a thought
