I just created my first forum and would really like some feedback on it. What do you think will attract more registerers to my forum?

I think you may need to get a coloful skin for your phpbb form to make it unique

Just add a decent skin and promote it as best you can and you may get lucky with it.

If phpbb is anything like SMF, you should be able to change everything in the admincenter. It may came with an alternate theme to choose.

Your best bet for help though @phpbb.com
They should have a section for Customizing your bb. You just download the theme and upload it.

Although not sure how much control over uploads you get with the free hosting.
Or they may have to do it for you.

My advice- get your own domain and host, if this is a site you are serious about.

Yes, it does have the standard blue background for the phpBB forums. Perhaps you could do the whole thing in Black background.

Perhaps to make it look like a dream world, dark blue background and something which looks like a moon. As we associate dreaming with night time sleeping.

Find a skin you like. download it.Open PHPBB in you control panel, open templates, upload the zip file, extract it, then go to your admin page and install it. It's quite easy.

However I would recomend going with SMF, they don't have the big PHPBB logo on you page. I think it's easier and more attractive.

Not sure what u mean by registered- as in a domain (just redirect it)
or with that free host- they probably dont support SMF
but there are SMF ones like that too.

Ive been using SMF for years and I just think its much easier to pickup. Plus- the community is very helpful.
Either way though, I would still go with your own hosting /domain esp if those google ads on your forum are his and not urs.

ok thanks...I mean I only have one other user registered besides me because I just created it...but I might try switching forum types or companies/host...I think I found one that will work..thanks a lot
