Website Review and Suggestions

Hello all,

This is my first ever successful attempt at coding a web site. The client provided all the images (except the middle advertisement) so design and layout suggestions are unnecessary. Just wanting to get some criticism and tips on the coding.

you need to care about the meta descreption .that would be better for seo,I didn't see it in the source code

Well i am viewing your site with a screen resolution of 800 x 600 and the header and footer does not go all the way to the right, their is a tag showing on top this one -->, and i can only see verally on the banner because the ra on the banner is not showing.

The background took a long time loading for me, not sure why. Also adding a meta description would help as the page has very little text for a search engine to display in their results.

links on the header go to 404. only home page opens..

I would say over designed and the links are not working . Please check them.

The navigation icons would be better if they sort of "lit up" when you hovered over them.

For example, the house one. When you hover over the icon the house turns white.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I did forget the meta tags by accident, but this was a temp/home only page for the client. Thus the links were not ready by the time I finished the coding.

@dWhite, I think so too. I will let the client decide and will show him your post.

@Knight, I do not code for 800x600 unless specified and the client was only concerned with 1024. With that said I, still, tried several times to get the header and footer gradient to go across in 800x600 but was unable to. Any suggestions for this? The '--->' was not my doing but I have made the client aware.

Again, thanks for all the replies. I will show these posts to my client and see what he thinks.

The overall impression of the website is pretty fine but the design is rather simple, maybe you can try adding some mini gadgets besides the existing ones? However, maybe this was your client's requirement. Good job!

I think you did good job on the site, considering the 'dance party' theme.

I would suggest adding labels to the top (navigation) boxes, maybe something where you hover over the box and the label appears over the existing picture, and when you hover-off it, the pic re-appears.
