Here is a site I'm putting together for a musician friend of mine. He is doing his first studio CD and starting to book events around. I have built this from scratch using knowledge I've gained from other open source projects I've worked with.

The reason I decided to go the custom route is because I believe there is more security with the site (and I know the backend very well). It also allows me to add and create new modules however we choose. Please feel free to give me comments, good and/or bad. Thank you everyone for supporting this project!

URL: http://www.jamisontunes.com

HTML: XHTML Strict 1.0 (no wysiwyg, PSPad only)

HTML SCRIPTING: Jquery 1.4 and some custom js

SERVER SCRIPTING: PHP 5.2.8

OTHER EMBEDDED SERVICES: PayPal EWP, MailChimp, AddThis

Buy a CD if ya feel led - Ha ha!

I'd signup for the newsletter to stay in touch and see whats happening, I dont tend to impulse buy albums without hearing them a few times but site looks good. Only thing I'm not sure of is the font / size of text, doesnt quite look 'pro' to me. Dont know...

Yes, thanks - We are going to put up wimpy player very soon, that is sorta of a big deal. Right now this is why we have the MySpace link up for the music.

The funny thing about the text, it feels a little uncomfortable, but it the easiest to read on top of the background that I found. However, I may have to change this and do something with the contrasting background(??)

I think the site layout and design is superb. The navigation is a little boring, but, other then that, a great site. What did you use to create this site, ex: notepad, dreamweaver etc.

Thank you. Not much navigation going on at the moment, but give it time and it will be littered with the best of 'em!

I never took the time to figure out Dreamweaver, so this is developed completely by a text editor (PSPad). Takes a little longer, but worth it IMO.

I look forward to seeing the finished product. I love the background under the content. You will have to PM me when you finish it and let me steal a look!

Cheers!

Looks good i like the background and the navigation, the header and footer does not go all the way to the right side when viewed with a 800 x 600 screen resolution.

Hmmm, not sure I understand what you mean. It's really designed at 900 wide (for 1024x? format), so 800x600 is not going to fit it very well.

I also have a fixed height, which I'm not sure is a good thing, but somewhat common. Although it's not great for mobile browsing (I think I need to create a mobile friendly version that would redirected).
