I was hoping to get some feed back on my project site I am doing for my WEB115. This is not a real site. I have my sources cited in a link in the footer. Please let me know what you think. The project was to build a meditation center site, the example site she gave us is spiritrock.org. My instructor is very harsh in her reviews so I thought I would put it to the test here in this forum. Thanks everyone!

I like this site. The colors go well together, it's attractive, easy to navigate. I only have one suggestion. In the footer, I'd put the links on one line instead of two. I just reopened the page and I see the sidebar picture changed.

Its decent but i really do not like the navigation with the big twig and i do not like the scroll in the middle of all the pages, i thing it would look a lot better without them.

The navigation tree thing and the scroll makes the site look old to me for some reason. but other than that it looks decent.

Start inserting some CSS doing a cleaning for browsers, in FF there is a little hole in the top of the page, by cleaning i mean inserting something like this

* {
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
}

Also change the background color to the color used in the top menu. In more specific words i mean change the body bgcolo to this: #7d8a2e

Also would be nice if the leaves have a proper finish in the rest of the page for big monitors like mine; but that is hard to do with tables, you should learn some CSS.

Thank you AltIvan for your review. We were instructed not to use CSS at this point in our course. We will be putting CSS in soon. Everything has to be "hand coded". I really appreciate the feed back.

I would make the left margin a little bigger so that your text doesnt cover up the edge of the rolled up part of the scroll(IE7). It kinda ruins the "illusion".

I was looking at the wrong site. My apologies. I do like the site. The colors are nice. I would suggest for your menu using a image map instead of a script. Now days many including myself block scripts.

Tables for layout!

Another example of the "educational" system teaching 10 year old methods.

I think it's cool that your teacher selected spirit rock as a model. They're just over the hill from me.

I think the spirit rock website is not the right model in that your website appears to be focused on providing immediate information about meditation. The spirit rock site is designed to provide immediate information about that organization -- for example, the first announcement on the website is that the executive director is retiring.

So it appears to me to be an apples to oranges comparison.

I like the site you designed, and I like what you've tried to do to convey a sense of tranquility. I think some of it is distracting: the fonts for the navigation, the big leafy image, the image on the left that serves as a kind of logo. But I think it is a great first effort.

I do hope the teacher moves out of this old-fashioned hand coding mode and brings the class into the 21st century.

Great work! Keep it up!

Hand coding is NOT "old fashioned"

Thanks everyone for the input. We are going to be going into CSS on our next project. I am also taking a Dreamweaver class too. I have learned a lot in the tutorial based projects. I really enjoy doing these projects. I hope to get up to date with the current coding practices soon. I guess we have to learn the basic code before we can move on to the meat of what we will be doing. Thanks again everyone.

I think you have done a wonderful job. I really like the header navigation. It is colorful, fancy and unique. Your links at the bottom are good but when I hover over them they are hard to read. I think a bigger font is in order there.
