Website Review and Suggestions

Hi everyone,

I just launched a new humor site on Links.com. My primary objectives of the site are to:

1) Get visitors involved and clicking so that I can monetize in the future.

2) Get visitors to come back - repeat visitors.

Did I achieve my objectives? If not, how can I do better? Thanks much for all comments and suggestions!

I apologize for the problems you are having. If you can PM details I can check into it. Did you check your spam box by chance? There definitely are new members registering so the problem will have to be isolated in your case.

Yes, there certainly will be this reaction also. By the end of the day I will definitely know which direction the site is going.

I'm not really sure what your aim is.

That is a prime domain name though, surely using it as a premium directory or social bookmarking site would be a more logical approach?

Thanks blue-dreamer. I investigated the directory idea and it as DOA. There is no future in directories as far as I could tell. Social bookmarking was another possibility I had investigated and was well along with some pretty intensive development when a competitor came out with the exact same idea that I had --- only has far, far, far greater resources and sunk me.

So, I decided to go with a much simpler idea that might draw growing traffic.

The site looks all right but since their is nothing really on it, it is kinda hard to review, so maybe you should add some links to it.

Hi,

Yes the objective was to keep it very simple but appealing. So we have our mascot/logo and then simple clicking to view humorous links. It is about as basic as one can get. We tried to emulate the "Google" model for simplicity yet still have eye appeal.

Just wondering why all the scripts? My script blocker showed 24 scripts. I didn't allow them so the page probably didn't appear right to me. I am suspicious of any site with that many scripts.

Shouldn't be 24 scripts unless it was blocking scripts within the frame. Basically we have google analytics, Qunatcast, Siteuptime, and some of the social bookmarking scripts. Nothing fishy but you should be able to see the scripts that are being blocked in your script blocker to verify. Let me know if you see any issues.

The font size and text type does not seem to be good as gives a non professional look. The links are not working, fix them up. Spelling mistake check it. Layout is good.
