This is a combination blog/career/school project/whatever site that I'm using to learn about html, javascript, css, mySQL, php, web hosting ect...
Hopefully it doesn't break on anyone's computer. I've tried really hard to make it stretchable. Though I am aware that i.e. (NO SURPRISE) breaks my site, yet haven't researched on how to fix it yet.
Should work 100% fine in chrome, firefox, opera, safari, ect......
You guys are tossing around the word "modern" allot without much elaboration, nor commenting the navigation, layout, color scheme, implementation, rendering, ect....

The navigation is alright but not with the way the buttons looks.
The layout is bad you need to make it where the content goes down the page instead of the page staying in one place and having the content scroll down.
The colors do not look that good the colors look like colors they used in the 70's maybe use more basic colors.
Take a look at other websites (recommended: your competitions). See how they laid out their pages. You should get those ideas and implement it on your website.
