All in all it looks good. Its simple.
The one criticism i have is with the text based ad's. The green stands out too much, it actually becomes distracting when trying to read anything else. I know you want people to follow the ad's, but you dont want them to overpower your content and make people leave the site. I know personally when i land on a site for the first time, if the ad's seem to be the main vocal point of the site i immediately leave (your wasnt bad but it might cause people to eventually leave).
Id also consider trying to put some kind of seperation between each posting on the home page, with all that text and white space (backdrop), it kind of runs on. a <hr/> after each post (or something with the similar effect) would in my opinion help to make browsing and quickly reading the posts easier.
Lastly you may want to consider eventually opening up commenting. I didnt check every post but the ones i did where all closed to comments. Commenting gives you a way to make readers feel like they contribute and are part of a community. In turn they are more likely to come back and tell others.
Everything seems to function as it should, no issues of form or function that i saw, just small quirks.
