Hi,

Firstly, let me say this is a solid effort for your very first website!

Here are a few ideas I had from looking at your site:

> There is too much of the same shade gray, it just feels kind of 'bleh'. I would vary the shades of your header, sidebar and background.
> Your left column is the best part of your site, with clear text and headings. To improve it even further I would increase the text size of your headings and main text.
> I would make your menu background the same as it's current hover state. A blue menu would stand out a lot more and make your site easier to navigate. Just as a side note, the menu links are vertically misaligned in your menu (they're too high up).
> Your header image has nothing to do with computers. I would change the background to something more relevant. Additionally, your logo text is not very readable. Consider a font/text color that is more legible.

I hope this helps!

Well ,

I suggust you to magnify the width of page layout, 950px or 980px will be better.

Another thing you should do is shrink the size of picture. Size of 3648px × 2736px is too big and loads slowly. 500px width is big enough and loads fast.

First site? It looks a LOT better than my first site. My feedback:

1. Brighten it up a bit with a different color scheme.
2. Change the font of your headers to help them stand out a bit more
3. It's a bit tough to read your company name, it's blending in with the design.

I like the layout.

Other than the banner you are using i think your site looks really good, also i like that your website fits the size of a small monitor, good job on it.

looks pretty good for a first site!

don't like the double underline on hover - one would be nicer

don't underline your headings e.g. Step 1: Placing your order.
because it looks ike a link. you could use a bottom border all the width of the main column instead.

why is it in frames? is that to do with your hosting?? if not then take it out of frames!

your product pictures are really important but they are crap.
use a better camera, take pictures against a white wall and then cut them out in photoshop or other image editor something like this

(although there's a limit to what i can do with that image grabbed off your site )

as already mentioned, your images are too big! and you could present them with something like this - http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/

if you can get hold of some better images and want to hire me to present them for you, cutout, levels adjusted, placed against a background and incorporated in a slideshow i'll do it for a very reasonable fee

otherwise if you feel you can do it yourself - or learn - then please do as your product images sell your products, and at the moment they are the weak part of your site! you want potential customers to say - 'wow - that looks cool, i want one', not 'huh that's looks a bit naff and you can see all the mains cable and stuff on their desk/wall.

also when you take the photos and you have a shot like modded pc 7 (the one with red neons through big window) then take it slightly from the front so you don't see the back panel with all the leads and bits trailing out

Looks decent but not professional. Pic on the header seems to be something industrial and not computer related. Remove Your link here in the sidebar - instead you can place the links.

Its framed coz of my hosting using Zyminc and got my domain name from 123-reg.co.uk.

The only options 123-reg.co.uk offer on web forwarding are;

No web-forwarding

If you select this option anyone typing mw-computers.co.uk into a web browser will be shown the 123-Reg default page.

Framed web-forwarding to a single page

If you select web-forwarding to a single page the destination URL can have a specific filename on the end (e.g. index.htm).
It could just point to a directory (URL ends with /) in which case the files displayed would depend on the webserver 'directory index' settings.
The destination URL will be replaced by mw-computers.co.uk.

Non-framed web-forwarding to a single page

This option is the same as above however the destination URL will always be displayed in the address bar of the browser.

Framed web-forwarding

The destination URL will be replaced by mw-computers.co.uk - "chosen"

Non-framed web-forwarding

The destination URL will remain in the browser's address bar.

I chose Framed web-forwarding so the url is always in the address bar instead of mw-computers.zxq.net/mw-computers/index.html

Any help on that would be great!

Changed hover to single line looks alot better. I am gonna start taking better images of the mods to.

The layout looks decent but I would get rid of the intro page. The red on black is hard to read and the page serves no purpose other than to slow down your visitor.

i don't really want that intro page. Seeing that i have the domain name pointing to my webhost servers i have to have a page a index page in root. I have been uploading my web site folder using ftp with index.html inside the folder. Ive had my domain forwarding to http://mw-computers.zxq.net/mw-computers/index.html but when i upload just the files and pages to root the pages dont display how i want them :S

I haven't got a clue how to fix this.

Any help would be nice

Its ok now, ill sorted it. Ive change the A records so they will pointing to the site so then i wont need to use frames.

Ive added "flashbox" like davemies said and its come up really nice After playing around with my index page i have seemed to have lost the "close" button for flashbox. I have also added "flashbox" to "modding service" but the close image is there.

Any help with this? Thanks for all the input guys, you lot have really helped me with this. Glad i joined this forum no nativity and people thinking there better then everyone else.
