Website Review and Suggestions

Hey guys,

I've recently launched a new website following the fmylife.com concept. The site is AreYouAn*******.com and allows users to submit daily stories, which are then voted on by the public:

Let me first say that I don't want to hear any 'it's a rip off' comments. Yes, it follows the fmylife concept, but that's not what I'm here for. I believe that the website offers a unique and humorous twist on what's a fairly old concept (pre-fmylife).

I tried to make the site stand out in terms of a simple, sleek design.

I'm looking for design and concept related comments, and general reviews.

If you really want something like this to catch on, I would recommend enabling comments.

Whilst I've tried to keep the site as simple as possible I agree with you there.

I'll get my developer to start work on that feature!

It is a pretty cool idea and I can also see it catching on. I completely agree with VM about letting people comments. I guarantee the comments will end up being more interesting to read and will be why most people visit the site.

LOL!our sites are identical!yeah the comments would be cool. This site's theme seems almost transparent to fmyl a little...obviously there's a connection but i mean outside of the design...like the post are identical..I think the submission format "Stories start with "Today" and end with "AIAA?" (Am I an as*hole?)", may be it...maybe you could change the submission format to something that will enable the visitor to differentiate the site's niche a little because both sites seem like stories of as#holes talking about as*holes..and members function would b cool too..

As others have said, the concept behind it is a great idea; although very very very similar to f***mylife, so be prepared to get negative feedback from people who aren't happy with that.

The idea is still different though, and I think that is your saving grace.

The buttons need some work, maybe make devil horns on the "Ugh. What an *******". and angel horns on "Meh, just an average Joe."
I'd also suggest changing the "decision buttons" that I just talked about to something along the lines of "You're an *******." and "You're not an *******."

Wow I really like it, the simple design is perfect, it will go viral if you enable commenting, thats essential.

. I do realize the similarities to FMyLife, but if there's room for MyLifeisAverage then I figure why not look at a slightly funnier side of life...
