Website Review and Suggestions

Hey guys,

Just this week I've been starting to put together a site for my freelance web design services. Insight is appreciated!

I would like to change the logo, that's one thing that definitely needs to go.

I think your site looks pretty good, i like how you have the green at the top of the page that looks really cool. Nice job on it.

top part of the site looks good, but to dark/black when you move down and at the bottom.

You need to stronger call for action so that users know what services you offer and how can they get them. It's hard to find this information on the website. I would have guessed that it's just a blog about web-design unless I've read your post here.

I would get rid of all the irrelevant stuff like tag cloud at the bottom, etc.

351px high logo that's 228 kilobytes?... It definitely has to go. This thing took around 5 seconds (many users would have left the website for good by then) to load on my 3G connection and it took up all of my netbook screen when it did. All useful information was buried beneath it so I had to scroll. It's good when design is nice, rich and colorful but it also has to be functional.

So far I really have only started doing design -- functionality and real content has still not been added. I plan to make the main page a total layout of services and get rid of the extra stuff at the bottom (tag cloud, etc.)

I would just say;

Try to change your color combination of your site design. specially black from background. Otherwise site is fine.

Thx for the feedback guys, appreciate it.

I recently made some changes:
- added Google Buzz, Facebook share, Twitter to blog posts
- added facebook connect for new users
- Removed caps from comments
- Made the left sidebar the same throughout the site

I am thinking about replacing the top image with a slightly less tall flash header. This will bring my content closer to the top of the page & will get my point across more efficiently with a flash header.

Does anyone have suggestions of a good design solution for flash headers?

The top of your site is great including the logo and stuff. The bottom of the page I sort of don't like as much. Also, your site takes a long time to load. But overall, it's good!
