IMO the layout looks too out dated, you got enough content tho' but I would really look into getting a new modern layout. It would really bring the site togeather. Besides that if it is truly your first attempt at a website than give your self a congrants, you deserve it man. Great work and dont get discouraged over my comment about the layout, its only my opinion. Keep up the good work!

Id agree with the poster above.

Content seems fine,
You layout however seems quite dated.

Simple things like having a better quality header image ( maybe not so busy looking )
and then also have the site bland with the same colour scheme.

The left hand side of your site has more space then the right hand side, the logo at the top looks kinda bad it looks like a logo from the 90's or something, other than that the site looks alright to me.

Looks abit outdated also theres not alot of content on there.

A new banner would make the site look more professional maybe adding some affects to the text. Your left navigation images (Home ect) look every outdated and doesn't go with the rest of the site and is kinda hard to read.

Let me know if you need a banner.

Hope this helps

Hey it's your first attempt, and I think it looks good for your first try. I agree with some of the suggestions listed, but I think the overall look is fine.

I agree & disagree with some of the others

I am a developer working in business for 15 years & new to this forum but not new to this game

Comments to help & advise you

1 - first go then good for you & stick at it but stick at it & there are improvements to be made

2 - the site as it stands is not great - sorry mate it just isn't - look around the internet at websites that are great & see why. London Zoo to chopper tattoo to http://www.etsy.com/ & penguin books or even facebook. Clean designs, clean colours & great graphics when used.

3 - invest in good kit - if you cant afford the latest versions look for older copies of dreamweaver & or graphics programs - mates at uni might be able to help with this - academic priced versions can always be bought at much reduced prices.

4 - use some free resources - there are tons of free css templates out there that can be used as a base if you are not comfortable with your own work

5 - content is ultimately king & you have that but presentation is so important & that is lacking for you right now. Gray is not a great colour to use unless the whole site is black, white & gray. You should use a clean text navigation system with some CSS if necessary to create colour.

6 - errors - Your first page loads on the right then shifts to the left. Your form overlaps your margins.

Sorry mate get back to the drawing board & use some free resources - you clearly have the start here but it can go further - kind reviews telling you it looks outdated are understating the importance of not having a shop front that under sells your business

100% agree with the layout its outdated, nothing really stands out on it. Maybe try out some animation like Adobe Flash. Alot of guides on youtube.

It needs to be clean and presise. Check out http://www.templatemonster.com/ for some ideas

Not crazy about the color scheme... might want to use Kuler (kuler.adobe.com) to come up with a more balanced and easy on the eye scheme
