Website Review and Suggestions

Hey guys,

Newbie here. We have recently released our new Price Comparison site fresh out of beta, and while it's now live we are still looking for ways to enhance/improve the layout. The main page/navigation looks like this at the moment:

We are trying to go for the white/minimalist approach, any advice on how to improve the appearance would be greatly appreciated, to view the site you can go to http://www.seewhosells.com or just Google "See Who Sells", should be the first result

Well the image looks really good, i think the site looks nice, i tried the link but the site would not load for me so i can only base how your site looks by the image.

The site loaded fine for me, but when I plugged in a search term, I used 'Blue Ray', it took a long time (probably 30 seconds) to produce results. That said, I think the appearance is great, exactly what you need. I like the categories that are displayed.

That is not necessarily a joke! Some of us might be looking for an on-line store-or-whatever where we can send some of our traffic.

My own situation is that I threw up a niche website last century. It was just done in HTML and no SEO at all because I knew nothing of such mysteries. It was then ignored by myself. In the meantime it has attained Google Page Rank 3 and 210k+ visitors p.a. (OK, sneer if you must, if I sound a little pleased! I'm only a n00b.)

These are well-disposed visitors, and many would do a favour back by at least looking at an associated e-store. I did see a nice store some months back, and looked at the affiliate link at http://www.affilistore.com/. I have just gone back for a second look to find... a site for sale. I have also looked at this SeeWhoSells site, but the affiliate link does not inspire much confidence. N00b affiliates need hand-holding, idiot-proof instructions, and a lot of reassurance that they are joining a tried-and-tested program.

So, as a real question, and not messing about:

Can anybody recommend a good e-store-sort-of-thing with affiliate opportunities?

Haha, yeah, it's not exactly an empty market

However we hope to be adding features to set us apart from the multitudes at some time in the near future, main priority at the moment was just to get it live and begin optimizing the search while filling out any categories that are lacking in products

If any of you could check the site out and give us some feedback based on the following questions, it would be much appreciated:

1. What was your first impression of the site?
2. What was the first thing you looked at or read?
3. Where did your eyes tend to go on our page the most?
4. If you were to do a search for our web site what keyword or search phrase would you use?
5. What area of the site did you dislike?
6. Was the information easy to read, and did it have a nice flow to it?
7. Was it a website you would trust?

This kind of feedback would really help with our development process, thanks a lot in advance.

hi,
This is looking like a typical shopping cart site and it looks good.

The first impression of the site is logo. that is really nice.
if i do a search through your site, my keyword will be mobile phone and music players.
I dislike the search area...the search box is too big that is affecting the logo.

After coming back for another look, I think your design is better than most of your competitors. It does look "clean" and understandable. The only thing that jars is that Tech Guy at the top right - how does he fit in?

We are going to have How-To's on custom projects, with instructional videos and a list of the parts needed to construct them that people can view itemized if they want to build it themselves
