Hi guys ...this is my first site which is a political site for the state of Maryland...I would like your input and suggestions...also I just noticed that some of the "candidates" profile is not fully showing up in Explorer..I have no clue on how to fix that ....but anyways...I'm open for feed back!
First impressions are pretty good. Nice template, clear menu.
The header graphic is not great, needs some work.
The main thing is you say the site is for Maryland but it doesn't say that anywhere on the page?

the changing banner is pretty distracting when your trying to read the text but i do like the idea behind it and there are some pretty some pictures in the slideshow but i think that perhaps it would be better if there was a gap between the text and the banner (this might sound really vague but if you dont understand it ill try to explain it better)
and the text all seems really big like there isnt any paragraphs just all heading which pulls my eyes all over the place which makes it pretty hard to read
with the candidates profiles what is the order behind it, is it reverse alphabetical?
perhaps make this known so it is easier to find a specific candidate
the search is very good and i imagine very helpful for people in that live in the districts
