Website Review and Suggestions

Hi,

I've started a new site three days ago. It would be helpful if you could give me some comments about how you like the site. The actual design is a free template which I've designed but the web design gallery will get an unique design as soon as possible.

Is the english text on the site correct or are there any mistakes? (I'm from Germany, so English isn't my first language)

Do you like the web design which is featured in my gallery?

Was it your intention to have a minimal design so that the gallery images took precidence? I ask because there are very few gfx in the overall layout...

There are some beautiful, original and crazy websites in your gallery, I enjoyed looking through it.

As for your own gallery site, I would say that to a point the design of it is not that important as it does its job perfectly - it gets out of the way and lets you see the designs - I've bookmarked it with my other web design gallery sites.

However, I think your header text 'Web Design Gallery' is too plain, and you should change the size and font. Also, the words 'Amazing Web Design' does not sound right, nobody really uses the word amazing anymore. I would call it 'Exceptional Web Design' or 'Stunning Web Design'.

But wow, some of the sites in that gallery are good - I love the look of http://www.thepixel.com/blog/ even if it is a little impractical as a site for a web design company. Made me feel a little.... inadequate.

I like the layout but not the graphics that go with it. the Header image on my computer is dead jagged and the shadows at the side of the header seem like they are missing a few pixels. I also would like to see a logo instead of plain typed text. I love the gallery though. Very unique designs in there.

Header - It's to simply for a Web Design Gallery (this is just a tip) make more sofisticated , improve the design in this part for better results

If you don't want make a better Header just make better the font in "Web Design Gallery" ... just text it's litle for the your content.

Right Menu - just improve the font ... maybe lighter in your color (just in "Web Design Gallery").

SEO Tip - Why don't you make a litle content in each post ... will improve your ranking for sure ... Write why did you like ...

Good use of buttons in post (twitter and facebook)

Resume - It's to simple

Text header is not aligned with content text. It is a little closer to the left border.

As for you website layout, I think you should add some picture to the header leaving the background white; it looks good.
It lacks text; it would be nice if designers who created these projects could write some comments on their works. E.g., what's the main ideas, how much time it took them to create it, what technique they used etc.
Also you should diversify the tags.

The design is nice, although it wouldn't hurt to add an image in the header...

Also, you should describe the designs from your title HTML tags.

The layout is alright but i do not like the colors of the site, you should try the site with whites and light colors to emphasize the websites you are showing.
