Website Review and Suggestions

This is a social networking site that I have been working on for around a year (not constantly, but when I have free time)

It's built on the flexible PHPBB engine to allow both board discussion and have all the features of a typical social networking site, and then some.

Some features like Integrated Skype Calling (Users visit your profile, click "Call", and automatically opens Skype and starts calling that user), custom webpages which users can create and share with others, connect with multiple social networks (Chat in MSN, FB, Twitter, and more all in the Meebo Bar).

The site also has a set of tutorials to help get users started (These tutorials can be accessed via the home screen, once you sign up, or here: www.skoomster.com/tutorials)

I know the site isn't completely finished as there are always new ideas to add and bugs to fix, but I'm looking for input. Your ideas, suggestions, and bug reports.

At least it DOESNT! look like facebook for a change..

It is ok their is not a lot to see, the pages i did see looks alright, but i do not like the logo that much seems kinda generic.

Looks very nice. What about logo? I think it can be better in this concept because now for me it looks unwieldy. keep working.

Hi there,

About the design:
- It looks clean and nice, as everyone already stated.
- Your logo however doesn't entirely blend in with the nice Web 2.0 social networking look, you might want to try without drop shadows, those are a thing of the past, very rarely used
- In my experience, crossing lines on a website don't really look ok, they seem to try to divide the viewing area in slides. I would opt for the horizontal lines only.
- This is just for future reference: Your image slider in the middle looks awesome. However for such a good looking slider, your icons are not all alike, they seem to be of different themes. I would try getting hold of a set of icons exactly for this purpose, created for your site, maybe with less colors.
- You could give your login form a more web 2.0 look, bigger fields, backgrounds for them with slightly rounded edges, more visible login button.

Overall nice and tidy site.

I don't think that this will work out in the long run, unfortunately. The market is saturated.

I spent 2 minutes clicking around the site and couldn't figure out what was special or unique about it, so I left. Unfortunately, that is exactly what 99% of your visitors are going to do.

Also, I don't like the logo. Couldn't work out what it is supposed to represent. Make it simpler.

Website needs tidying up. Better attention to fonts, buttons, margins.
