Website Review and Suggestions

Hi I have recently modified my whole website and would like some feedback. Originally I used to have a web design site then a blog but decided to merge the two. I would like some feedback on my design and Also if you click one of the top nav links the logo breaks just wondering if anybody knows how to fix that. Thanks

Two words for you:

"image compression"

left_corner.png is around 50k when it should be less than 300 bytes - according to YSlow the home page is weighing in at 2.4MB... so you need to do what TWD says.

Your header and banner are massive and completely dominate the screen on a 1024x768 resolution - you need to scale things back and put some content above the fold. And there are quite a few html errors.

I'm not a big fan of designs that overcompensate for lack of detailing by plonking in a fancy background and/or header images. Once that monster background is hidden, the layout looks very plain.

Looks really good, i really like the logo on the top and the colors go well together, but it does take a while to load but nothing that is going to hurt the site, nice job on it.

I have a very large monitor, but with the header size and font sizes, there is not a whole lot of "real" information on the page when loaded.

I normally do not review WP stuff because it is full of errors'n'failures anyhow.

Ok, dude... you got a biiiig prob with loading speed and I tell you why:

It looks you only use png files, bad boy ... E.g. this file:

Why do you need that as a png? It is 1.3MB !!!

You should really think of using jpg's when you do not need any transparency for your graphic.

Your blog loads 2.1MB to my HDD (said my Firebug).

You have 5 404 errors (graphics).
