It is always nice to have the main categories always visible for the customer. For instance if I go to a product page like --> http://www.thebikeclassifieds.com/Bo...CX-Sport-Tire/

All menus are gone. In that way, you can loose some clients. Make sure you menu is user friendly and at least you display the main categories in all your site.
