i like the fact that you've used a lot of bright primary colours and cartoon designs. You've also used a lot of text, it's kind of 50/50 at the moment. I'd say focus on more of a coulourful graphical navigation interface for the kids.
for kids website,your theme and style is very good, but i have to say, site home page is best not to have blank, or give us the feeling of not compact.
