First, please excuse me for showing you an image (cobbled together with screenshots) rather than a site. Too boring and complicated to explain, and I hope you are not put off by having to imagine scrolling! 
This is the proposed design to replace what is currently here.
I work with an IT specialist. He knows all about coding but is not a designer. So writing and uploading the site is not a problem... it's the design which matters at the moment.
We are selling a Spanish language course for young children. The product is professionally made but still retains a homely feel, so it would be nice if the site could reflect that.
I'd really appreciate your comments, particularly on the initial feel/impact you get from what you see. Is it obvious what we are selling? To what is your eye drawn? (The child's tunnel picture is an animated gif of three rotating images and is the only movement on the page).
