Hey iv'e just finished my free image/file hosting site:

http://filewire.me/

Please if you can, rate the Design, Userbility and mention any improvements you can think of. i also want to know why you would choose to use another site other than mine for uploads (i guess that's a pretty similar question to the last).

I'm planning to add a form to email uploads to friends, and social bookmarks, aswell as a view counter for each upload, so please don't suggest those. Thanks!

couldn't be easier to use to be honest, though it might be an idea to give some instructions on there: you wouldn't believe how computer illiterate some folks are.

But yeah, good job

You know what? I clicked on your link expecting the usual "lets make a website in a day just to get some advertising clicks" and can honestly say...

I'm impressed! Simple, does what it says in the tin...

The only suggestion I can think of is maybe the option to register so upload images aren't lost as easy as mine was through back clicking!

Well done fella.

Thanks, it's looking quite positive If you click the info icon, some text appears, when you (edgray) talk about instructions, do you mean i should write more information in that box, or do i just need to make it more obvious that the information icon is there to click? Thanks again

I think it looks great. I agree with both edgray and rolda hayes.

I really love how it spits out two links, one for preview and one for download. Keep up the good work.

It would be cool though if you could view PDFs in the preview mode.

I was thinking perhaps underneath the upload box (or above, either would work) you could have a simple set of instructions:

1. Choose Your File
2. Click Upload
3. Share your link

Or something like that. My experience of getting computer illiterate people to send large files to me is generally very frustrating. It helps to make it as easy as possible. Most people won't even need the instructions, but some will.

I think you need to add more to this. Just a black screen with a box in the middle makes it look as if it's missing a lot.

Hmm yes but i was going for a very simple, subtle look for the site. There will be more content as time goes on, but aside from a possible banner ad or two and a few links i'd like to keep the site less cluttered, which to me is one of it's USP's

Apart from the image in the middle, it doesn't seem to move from there

Hmmm i like it

The only thing i would change is the search box , its only a personal preference but i think you could make a much more crisp search area that will enhance your page , i just think it looks a bit boxey and that .
