Website Review and Suggestions

Hi all,

I am designing a banner for a charity to help build my portfolio. I think it looks ok so far, but can anyone suggest any more tweaks to improve it further?

Sometimes it's best to keep it simple, I would do a couple of banners and then get suggestions, but I think it looks fine so far.

Had some positive feedback from the charity, they like the typeface, colour scheme and the idea of the silhouettes, but would prefer a more group/community orientated theme.
So I have come up with this design which I think is quite a big improvement. What do you think?:

I has nothing to catch my attention.

Try adding more colors and maybe even a type of flash.
