I suspect the other respondent means the several bands of stuff before you actually reach any meaningful content -- and that by scrolling down. Combine the site and google searches if you must have them -- I'd lose the sideshow from the sidebar, put the search there and give the slideshow its own blog. I assume you value the banner ad -- if so, do something to distinguish it from content. Too much gray on the page. You have good content and it's quite varied within the genre but it's lost among the page furniture.
I think too much gray also and does this all have to be on one page?
Also it looks like you may be using Google Add Sense and it sems to be taking over your page.
