Website Review and Suggestions

Hey guys,

Just did some testing and we are launching this site completely free for anyone to use. The site is HostedPreviews.com and it is a web application that helps designers create previews of their web designs without doing any coding. The previews are hosted on our servers and can easily be shared with clients or co-workers.

its style is so cool, but the content is so simple and boring.
but your tool is so wonderful, i like it very much.

Had a quick look: for god's sake don't say "Due to lack of interest in a paid preview application, we are now offering the HostedPreviews.com Application for free!" That makes your service sound really bad and unwanted! Just announce that it's free -- new visitors won't know it used to be a paid-for service.

because i like black background very much, so your colour and style are so attractive for me.
althugh your product are not very many, but so professional.
i only have one advice, because your background is black ,so your example diagram in the upper right corner looks not obvious.

It took me awhile to figure out what your site does exactly. I would probably change on the front page something like "Show Off and Easily Share Your Website Previews - Without writing a line of code". Then instead of having a stack of plain links, make nice big side by side buttons for "Sign Up Free" and "See How it Works".

I agree with Paul too - definitely need to change your wording on that blog post so its not showing up on the front page - nobody wants to hear "due to a lack of interest", lol. I'd also consider making your blog posts show up as excerpts instead of the full post.

Is there a way to let users share and rate previews with a link to their site? Showing an image gallery at the bottom of the front page of latest previews might attract some designers who are looking for more exposure, kind of like a css gallery of sorts.

All in all I think it's a great site with tons of potential - good luck with it

The orange text on black background is too hard to read. Fix that up.

Also, how does that demo show me anything? Make it so that I can play with the thing and not just see what it does.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I definitely agree with the comments and I appreciate everyone taking time to give their input.

Chelle - We have thought about adding some more community-style aspects to the site but we not sure if we want to compete with the CSS galleries and others. The website will probably only provide one basic tool for now, and we will try and add more if it grows.

theichibun - We'll see what we can do about demo. It's kinda hard to show people anything unless they sign up and try it out. We do have a screencast video that we could post there.
